The role of sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) is controversial in the management of thin melanoma (tM); for this reason, we have read with great interest the article by Dunne et al. The authors have correctly reported the recommendations of the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), according to which SLNB should be avoided in any tM. In the past 10 years, the authors have evaluated 204 tMs with SLNB: 22 patients showed SLNB positivity (11%) and 3 of them have died (14%). Therefore, the results of Dunne et al.
