In the Original Investigation titled, "Association of Asbestos Exposure With Malignant Mesothelioma Incidence in Eastern China," published online first on December 1, 2016, in JAMA Oncology, the wording of one of the conflict of interest disclosure statements should be clarified following a question the journal has received about it. The following clarification explains the statement about Dr Carbone providing consultation for mesothelioma expertise...for a fee to lawyers: "Payment from lawyers representing both sides of litigation was related to review of cases of patients with pleural tumors and the diagnosis of mesothelioma and for expert testimony, the last of which was provided in 2014." This sentence has now been added to the disclosure statement and the article has been corrected online.
