Some have attributed formation of the fold to a distinct ligament, 2,3 while others described a superficial fascial system. 4,5 Despite this controversy; most of the plastic surgeons settled on a thought that the preservation of the integrity of the IMF is an important goal in enhancing the aesthetic result in all breast surgeries.
