It has become increasingly common for health authorities to mandate the vaccination of all health care workers with the intention to protect health care workers and to prevent the spread of influenza to their patients; however, there is a need to justify widespread implementation of these programs. The purpose of this Rapid Response is to identify the clinical effectiveness of seasonal influenza immunization in health care workers to prevent the spread of influenza to patients. This is an update to a Rapid Response Reference List published in 2012, which identified one systematic review on the topic.
