General health benefits from good oral health

Abstract

I have read the editorial entitled "Opportunistic Dentistry is Harming Our Credibility" by Mark Bartold published in the Australian Dental Journal 2018; 63: 269.¹ I want to congratulate the author for this editorial and wish to make a contribution.

In the editorial, it was stated that "to date no studies have shown a causal effect between oral diseases such as periodontal disease and systemic disease".
